How to Start My Neighbor Alice

My Neighbor Alice is the friendliest possible answer to “can I just try one?” — a cozy farming-and-building MMO that runs entirely in your browser, lets you in as a guest with no wallet, and only creates your wallet quietly inside the game when you choose to go deeper. Full release (Chapter One) has been live since June 17, 2025.

What My Neighbor Alice is#

A social farming/building game on Chromia — think Stardew-adjacent islands where you farm, craft, fish and decorate a plot of land — playable straight in the browser via WebGPU on Mac or PC. It spent years in alpha seasons, then went fully live with “Chapter One: A New Adventure” in June 2025; patches have been landing steadily since (a Golden Pass system arrived in March 2026, and the Pudgy Penguins collab opened the Tinsel Falls region).

Requirements#

  • A browser on Mac or PC — no download, no launcher (WebGPU does the heavy lifting; mobile support is rolling out).
  • Nothing else to start: enter as a guest, get a random name and look, and explore.
  • No wallet, no purchase. The game creates a wallet inside the flow via Web3Auth only when you decide to claim items — and it’s exportable if you later want self-custody.

The start#

  1. Go to myneighboralice.com and click play — you’ll be in the world in under a minute as a guest.
  2. Explore Lummestad: climb the tower, try the glider, talk to an NPC and claim your welcome gift.
  3. When the game asks if you want to keep what you’ve earned, that’s the moment it creates your wallet — confirm it inside the game’s own flow.
  4. Take the glider toward new regions like Snowflake Wilds and Tinsel Falls to unlock more crafting and quests.

What the NFT layer adds#

  • Land and items you can own — plots, cosmetic collections and crafted items can be minted as NFTs on Chromia; the free guest experience doesn’t need any of them.
  • A quiet wallet — Web3Auth provisions it in-game and it stays invisible until you want to trade; exporting it later is supported.
  • Seasonal collections — collab drops (Pudgy Penguins’ Tinsel Falls, the Fugz and Garden Party collections) are where most new mintable items appear.

Safety notes#

About as safe a start as this site covers — free, browser-based, wallet-optional. Two things to keep clean: only play through myneighboralice.com (fake “Alice” tokens and land-sale scams exist on other chains — the real game is Chromia), and treat your in-game wallet like a real one once it holds items — export and back up the recovery phrase before you buy anything significant.
