How to Start Playing Cambria — Risk-to-Earn MMO, Invite-Gated
Cambria is a browser MMORPG on Ronin where the economy is real and adversarial — its own designers call it “risk-to-earn.” You can lose what you stake. That makes this the highest-friction onboarding in our registry: you need a Ronin wallet and, for most content right now, an invite or a citizen. The upside of that friction is a game whose stakes actually mean something.
What Cambria is#
Cambria is a persistent medieval-fantasy MMO played entirely in the browser. Its core loop — gather, craft, fight, extract — runs on a real-stakes economy: the gear and currency you carry into contested zones can be taken by other players. The web3 layer (citizens, land, the earn loop) sits on Ronin. Our Cambria record tracks its verified early-access status.
Requirements#
- A Ronin wallet — login is wallet-based; set one up via the official Ronin wallet app/extension before anything else.
- A browser — no client install.
- Access — the Dungeons expansion runs invite-gated; the September 21, 2026 Genesis restricted opening admitted a supply-capped wave of citizens. Check the registry profile and official channels for the current admission window rather than assuming open access.
- Money you can lose — optional to start, but understand the model before buying anything: “risk-to-earn” means stakes, not rewards.
Cambria is not a passive-income game. Its design deliberately lets other players take what you carry. If you’re looking for guaranteed yield, this is the wrong registry entry — see the registry for free, non-staked options instead.
The start — gated, on purpose#
Get a Ronin wallet, register on the official site, and take whatever free or spectator path is currently open (the team staggers access in waves — Genesis citizens first). Spend early sessions learning the map and the extraction loop with nothing staked: the players who fund the veterans are the ones who stake before they understand the risk mechanics. If invites are closed, the honest answer is to wait for the next wave rather than buy access on secondary markets you can’t verify.
The honest economics#
The earn loop is real precisely because it’s zero-sum-ish: what you extract is what someone else lost or spent. Citizen and land NFTs buy you a permanent seat in the economy, not a return — and an invite-gated early-access economy is the least predictable kind we track. Only stake what you’d spend on the game itself; for how this category of game ends, see our endings research.
What the assets do#
- Citizens — supply-capped access passes into the Genesis world and its earn loop.
- Land — economic territory in the persistent world.
- The earn token — extracted through risk-bearing play; sinks and emissions are still being tuned in early access.
Safety notes#
- Wallet login means phishing is the main attack — only use the official site link from the registry profile; never sign a transaction to “claim access.”
- Invite-gated games spawn fake invite markets — admissions come from the team, not resellers.
- Never stake assets you can’t afford to lose to another player.
