Gods Unchained Beginner Guide: Free Cards, Conquest and Your Collection
Gods Unchained is a trading card game in the classic TCG mould — and one of the few blockchain games where the free cards are actually enough to learn and compete. You can be in a ranked match ten minutes after downloading, wallet-free. Here’s the start-to-first-match path.
What it is#
A fantasy TCG where cards are the assets — play the free core set, then optionally collect tradable NFT cards on Immutable. Live status, platform and ownership facts are on the Gods Unchained registry profile.
Requirements#
- The client — Windows or Mac download from the official portal, or the mobile app.
- A Gods Unchained account — sign-up runs through Immutable Passport: Google, Apple, or email, no crypto knowledge needed.
- A linked wallet — optional, for trading only — you can play everything free without one; linking a wallet is required to buy/sell cards, fuse in the Forge, and join reward mechanics like Weekend Ranked.
The free start#
- Create an account with Passport and download the client.
- Run the tutorial missions — they hand you preset decks and teach the flow.
- Use the free Welcome Set: 140 cards arranged as six 30-card starter decks (one per god domain), all editable. Take the Light or Nature starter into Solo mode against the AI first — they’re built around straightforward early-game play.
- From there, missions and daily play fill out your collection before you ever consider the marketplace.
Conquest, the new competitive mode#
Conquest launched July 16, 2026 and is now permanent: a paid-entry competitive mode where you field a constructed deck for a five-game run, with win count setting the reward — exclusive animated promo cards, emotes and god portraits that rotate monthly. It’s gated behind rank 10+, so it’s a next-step once you’ve learned the game on the free set, not a starting point. A monthly leaderboard tracks runs; the mode isn’t going anywhere, so there’s no pressure to rush it.
Your collection#
- Core/free cards — account items, not tradable; enough to play meaningfully.
- NFT cards — tradable on the Immutable marketplace and TokenTrove; bought with a linked wallet. Mint/fuse mechanics live in the Forge.
- GODS — the ecosystem’s utility/governance token; described, not promoted, here.
What game NFTs actually do covers the ownership mechanics; the Immutable explainer covers Passport and the marketplace layer your wallet connects to.
