NFT Games on Polkadot: The Mythical Home Chain

Polkadot’s story in NFT gaming is really one publisher’s story: Mythical Games runs its own Polkadot-based network (Mythos), and every Polkadot game in our registry is either a Mythical title or a Mythical ecosystem neighbor. That makes the chain easy to summarize — and gives it the sharpest alive/dead split we track: two of the four tracked games are gone.

What Polkadot means at player level#

For a player the chain is almost invisible. Mythical’s titles — NFL Rivals, FIFA Rivals, and the departed Blankos Block Party — hold assets under a custodial account: no wallet setup, no seed phrase, no gas decisions. Trading happens on Pulse, Mythical’s USDC-priced marketplace, after an April 2026 migration that moved every one of its games’ NFT collections off the old MYTH-token Mythical Market. The practical consequence: prices are in dollars, not a volatile studio token.

The four games, and their split#

  • NFL Rivals — active, in Year 3: officially licensed NFL football with player-card NFTs, running seasonal content.
  • FIFA Rivals — active: the FIFA-licensed mobile football game, launching weekly ‘Stars of the Week’ content through the 26/27 season and riding the 2026 World Cup window.
  • Blankos Block Party — shut down: the PC game closed December 2023; the IP moved mobile and its NFTs were migrated onto the Mythical marketplace, then onward to Pulse.
  • Pudgy Party — shut down: the Pudgy Penguins mobile party game was delisted and wound down to concentrate the studio’s effort on Pudgy World.

The honest read#

Polkadot-via-Mythos is the most centralized arrangement in the registry: one publisher, one marketplace, one account system, licensed IP on top. The upside is real — it’s the least “crypto-facing” onboarding in NFT games, and the two living titles run professional live-ops. The risk is symmetrical: Blankos players learned that when the one publisher’s priority moves, a game’s assets migrate to wherever the marketplace goes next — survival means your NFTs keep trading, not that your game keeps running.

Status is what we verify: each record above carries a dated state, and how blockchain games actually end documents what “dead” looked like for the departed half.
