How to Start RavenQuest — the Working NFT MMORPG, Free in Browser
RavenQuest is the MMORPG people point to when they say an NFT game actually works — a real top-down MMO, playable right now in a browser or on Windows, free, with a September 2026 update that added 13 new hunting zones and ~4,200 creatures. The wallet only exists if you choose to use it.
What RavenQuest is#
A sandbox-style MMORPG from Tavernlight Games on the Immutable stack — classless archetype system (mix any skills into your build), open-world gathering, crafting, land ownership and player-driven economy. It’s in real live service: the Wilds update (v1.3.2) shipped September 1, 2026 off the back of the Rise of Tyrants expansion in May.
Requirements#
- A browser — you can play directly, no install — or the Windows client.
- A free account. No wallet required to play; Immutable Passport only enters for NFT and marketplace features.
The start#
- Go to ravenquest.io and create a free account — you can be in-game inside a browser session.
- Do the intro quests — they teach the classless build system (you assemble an archetype from skill lines, not a fixed class).
- Pick a gathering/crafting track early — RavenQuest’s economy is its point, and professions matter from level one.
- Play for a few sessions before even thinking about NFTs — land, creatures and marketplace items are a layer on top, not the game.
What the NFT layer adds#
- Land NFTs — player-owned land that plugs into the gathering/crafting economy (the deepest integration in the game).
- Creature/NFT assets and the marketplace — tradeable items routed through Immutable; a Passport wallet is only needed if you want in.
- Optional throughout — the entire MMO loop works for a zero-wallet player; the NFT layer is an economy overlay, not a paywall.
Safety notes#
RavenQuest earns its reputation honestly — but it’s still a live economy, so buy land or assets because you want to play the economy, not because you’re betting on token prices. Only use the official site and the real Immutable Passport flow; Discord DMs offering “RavenQuest airdrops” or “free land” are a standing scam shape.
