How to Start Playing Axie Infinity Terrariums

Axie Infinity: Terrariums is the land game’s successor — Homeland was officially sunset in June 2026 and Terrariums is where that ecosystem landed. It’s the actively maintained “build and manage” side of Axie, distinct from the Origins card-battler. Here’s the path in.

Terrariums vs the rest of Axie, today#

Three names cover the live Axie universe, and they are not interchangeable. Origins is the card-battler (its own starter guide). Terrariums is the land/crafting successor to Homeland — the ecosystem that Homeland’s assets and rewards migrated into when it sunset. Classic is paused history. If a guide doesn’t name which one it covers, treat it as stale.

Requirements#

  • Sky Mavis account via Mavis Hub — same account system as Origins.
  • Ronin wallet — for the asset layer — land, materials and the migration-mapped balances live on Ronin (see the Ronin explainer).
  • Homeland-era assets, if you had them — the sunset mapped them into Terrariums; a clean start works without any.

The starter path#

  1. Get Mavis Hub from the official Axie site and sign in with your Sky Mavis account.
  2. Open Terrariums — if you held Homeland assets, the mapped balances show in the new system; if not, you start clean.
  3. Learn the land/craft loop — it’s a management game, not the card battler; materials, crafting and the land layer are the core.
  4. Only when the economy layer matters: connect your Ronin wallet and check what’s on-chain vs in-game.

What the assets do#

Land, materials and crafted items carry the on-chain layer; Homeland-era holdings were migration-mapped rather than abandoned — one of the cleaner wind-down executions in the registry (the studio announced the sunset, scoped the asset path, and shipped the successor). What game NFTs actually do covers the model.

The 2026 context#

Terrariums is the registry’s current answer to “what does a good shutdown look like?” — Homeland’s June 2026 sunset came with asset continuity into a successor, not silence. Two lessons live here: check which Axie any guide covers (Homeland-era advice is now history), and note that even a supported sequel means your old game’s runtime ended — the status guide treats exactly this distinction.

Safety notes#

Only via the official Axie site / Mavis Hub. Sunset migrations are prime phishing season — fake “claim your migrated Homeland assets” pages target exactly this transition. The real migration is handled inside the official client; nobody legitimate asks for your seed phrase.
