How to Start Alien Worlds: Cloud Wallet, Free Mining and the DAO Layer
Alien Worlds is the most-clicked blockchain game ever made — hundreds of thousands of accounts mine daily — and it is also the easiest wallet onboarding on this site, because WAX Cloud Wallet signs up with an email or Google login. What it is not is a deep strategy game: the honest pitch is a free mining clicker with NFT tools, tiny real earnings, and an increasingly interesting DAO-governed game platform growing around it.
What Alien Worlds is#
A browser-based mining game from Dacoco, live since December 2020, where you equip NFT tools, pick land on one of six planets, and click “mine” on a timer for small amounts of the TLM token and NFT drops. It was, for years, the most-used blockchain game on earth by wallet count. Since 2025 it has been evolving into a multi-game platform — companion games like Mayhem and Outlaw Troopers, DAO “Planetary Syndicates” that vote on treasury spending, and community grants through Galactic Hubs. Current status sits on the Alien Worlds registry profile.
Requirements#
- A WAX Cloud Wallet account — required before you can play, but it’s a social login (email, Google, or other OAuth options) at wallet.mycloudwallet.com. No seed phrase handling at signup; ~5 WAX may be suggested for account resources (you can skip and claim free tools).
- A browser or Android device — no client download; the game runs at play.alienworlds.io.
- Nothing else — the free starter tool is enough to mine from minute one.
The start#
- Create a WAX Cloud Wallet at wallet.mycloudwallet.com — social login, then you get a .wam wallet address.
- Go to play.alienworlds.io and log in with that wallet — the game gives you a basic shovel NFT to start.
- Pick a planet and a land plot (landowners take a cut of mining rewards; you’ll see the commission rate), equip the shovel, and mine.
- Each mine rolls for TLM and a chance at NFT drops; better tools mine more per cycle but the shovel is fine for learning.
- Upgrade only after you understand the loop — tools are bought on Atomic Hub or earned via drops; check tool “charge time” and “trillium” stats rather than raw rarity.
- Explore the platform layer when the clicker gets thin: Planetary Syndicate elections, Missions (staking TLM for NFT rewards), and the newer companion games all use the same wallet.
What the NFT layer actually adds#
- Tools and land are owned assets — NFTs trade on WAX’s Atomic Hub marketplace; land owners earn commission on mining on their plots.
- TLM is a real, listable token — it pays for Missions, votes in Planetary Syndicates, and bridges between WAX and BNB Chain.
- The DAO layer is the interesting part — planetary DAOs control real treasuries and fund the community-built games now shipping under the Alien Worlds platform.
- The economics are honest-small — free mining earns fractions of a cent per session. This is a game you play because it’s there, not an income; treat anything promising otherwise with suspicion.
